About Lore and Life
Photos and Sketches by Kathryn Kimiecik Foley
I no longer attempt to view or experience the world with a split between sacred and secular activities or traditions. To remove sacred feelings from my life has been destructive. It doesn’t matter to me what sacred traditions you practice. I tried very consciously to give up all my sacred beliefs because they didn’t mesh with college courses. Worse, they were toyed with which added to my sorry trail of attempts to maintain any kind of sacred life. I understand secularists but I no longer accept secularists who have been secular for so long or for so many generations that the sacred becomes incomprehensible. That’s a problem.
